Ratings Guide

A note on the ratings system: This system is just a quick, dirty way to make reccomendations; if you don't have time to read the review, the star rating tells you how much I would reccomend a film. But obviously, the four-star rating guide isn't perfect. Some films need time to grow in one's mind; so I may end up putting a film with a lower star rating higher than another on some end of the year list, or whatever. Or just because one film is rated the same as another, it doesn't mean they're of the same quality; it just means they both do what they set out to do equally well (or on an equally poor level). So basically, take the star ratings on a film-to-film basis; don't try and make comparisons between the ratings. It won't tell you a damn thing. Trust me.
